The passion of hunting has been connected to the everyday life of man for ages, but as the times passed, instead of getting food, the entertainment and sports became the most important aim in this field. Perhaps, the words of the well-known hunter and Africa-researcher, Zsigmond Széchenyi can express the gist of this activity giving a special experience: ”Hunting is chasing game and forest murmurs, but more forest murmurs. Nature lovers’ being immersed in nature itself.”

In our homeland, Paks, the river is an important part of our everyday life: maybe there is not a person in Paks who does not have a nice memory of it. And, it is no wonder, because the Danube offers a wide range of entertainment facilities: the gently sloping green banks are perfectly suitable for angling and bathing; on the slowly billowing waves you can do many watersports from jet skiing and speedboating to water-skiing and rowing. |

Wine-producing in Paks dates back long and boasts some famous products like ’siller’ wine. When in our town you should walk to the row of wine-cellars in Sárgödör Square and do not miss to taste this peculiar kind of wine. The ’siller’ is a light, fresh fruit-flavoured wine but has a more full-bodied and spiced aroma than the rosé wines. While tasting wines you should have time to get to know the other unique gastronomic adventure of our town, the famous fish soup of Paks. A bowl of real fish soup of Paks, a piece of breaded carp with white wine and a glass of genuine red wine of Paks can make even the most monotonous day a holiday. Especially, if you have this in Sárgödör Square with unique atmosphere. |
